See your match score & applyThe Senior Project Associate will independently assist and coordinate the implementation of migration-related projects focusing on protection and Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration (AVRR). The role involves monitoring project activities, coordinating financial and administrative aspects, liaising with stakeholders, and supporting capacity building and reporting.
Responsibilities
- Independently assist and coordinate the implementation of the project; monitor implementation of the activities to ensure work is proceeding according to established plans; analyse implementation difficulties and make recommendations for adjusting implementation modalities and work plans to best reflect changing environment on the field.
- With the support of Finance Unit, monitor budget expenditures; verify availability of funds and maintain a proper record of approved project budgets and their revisions.
- Coordinate and monitor the financial, administrative and technical aspects of the project in line with IOM policies and donor requirements.
- Support the planning, coordination of and conduct capacity building workshops for relevant internal and external parties.
- Participate in meetings and conferences; maintain effective liaison and coordination with local authorities, partners, United Nation agencies, intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations, donors and other stakeholders relevant to the project.
- Coordinate the preparation of correspondence, briefing notes, presentations, narrative and financial reports; ensure status reports are prepared and submitted in a timely manner.
- Identify and document good practices and lessons learned; contribute to the development of Standard Operations Procedures (SOPs), policies and concept papers and support the development of new projects.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- School diploma with six years of relevant experience; or, Bachelor's degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields from an accredited academic institution with four years of relevant professional experience.
- Experience in collaborating with government authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies, and non-governmental organizations.
- Experience working on migration or the protection of vulnerable individuals, or issues related to international cooperation.
- Prior experience working with international humanitarian organizations, non-governmental or governmental institutions/organizations in a multicultural setting is an advantage.
- Thorough knowledge of the Moroccan institutional system, the United Nations, and associative work in Morocco.
- Experience in project management, monitoring, and evaluation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) tools.
- Experience with programme management tools such as MiMOSA and RiMS.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment.
- Analytical and synthesis skills.
- Team spirit and the ability to work independently.
- Be prepared to work flexible hours.
- Fluency in English and French are required (oral and written), desirable working knowledge of Arabic.
