Senior Technician (Cyber Security)

The Senior Technician (Cyber Security) supports the operation of Cyber Defense capabilities protecting NATO mission networks. The role involves technical support, configuration, documentation, and maintenance of Cyber Defense systems within the NATO Communications and Information Systems Group.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical support to the NCISG DCIS Cyber Defense capabilities.
• Configures the NCISG-provisioned DCIS Cyber Defense capabilities to support the required mission.
• Liaises with technical counterparts within NCISG, to ensure the interconnection and integration of the NCISG-provisioned DCIS Cyber Defense capabilities.
• Maintains operations and support documentation for the DCIS Cyber Defense capabilities.
• Supports adherence to the NATO security policies and standards.
• Updates the hardware and software configuration database for the DCIS CD capabilities.
• Maintains the configuration change log.
• Ensures the Cyber Defense capability backups, are executed properly and periodically tests restoration procedures.
• Supports the maintenance of the NCISG-provisioned Cyber Defense Capabilities in accordance with the defined schedules.
• Monitors software license usage and supports software license renewals.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience managing and administering Linux Operating systems
• Minimum 2 years of experience managing and administering Microsoft Windows Server and Client Operating Systems.
• Minimum 2 years of experience managing and administering hardware virtualization solutions
• Minimum 2 years of experience installing, configuring and managing network devices.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in networking.
• Proven knowledge and practical experience in programming and/or scripting languages
• Minimum 2 years of experience authoring documentation and in configuration management.
• Higher Secondary education and completed higher vocational training in network engineering, computer science, information systems engineering or related discipline leading to a formal technical or professional certification with 3 years function related experience, or Secondary education and completed advanced vocational training in that discipline leading to a professional qualification or professional accreditation with 5 years post related experience.
• English - SLP 3333 - (Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing).
• University degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Information Systems Management or related disciplines. Alternatively advanced vocational training that leads to a professional ICT qualification and 2 years of related work experience.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as Security Engineer in a Security Operations Centre.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Systems Administrator managing a large and diverse IT infrastructure.
• Minimum 2 years of experience with VMWare vCenter and ESXi.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Cisco Next Generation Firewalls configuration.
• Minimum 2 years of experience with Redhat Linux.
• Minimum 2 years of experience supporting web applications.
• Practical experience installing and configuring server equipment.
• Cisco CCNA Routing & switching Certification
• Cisco CCNA Security Certification
• Security+ or equivalent Certification
• Microsoft Certified Windows Server Administrator (or equivalent Windows Certification)
• Redhat Certified Systems Administrator (or equivalent Linux certification)
• Network+ or equivalent certification.
