This consultancy involves conducting research and policy analysis on international development finance and partnerships with China-based financial institutions. The consultant will support development engagement strategies, enhance capacity through training and knowledge-sharing, and support event organization to promote financing cooperation with a child-lens.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research and policy analysis assignments on international development finance and partnerships with China-based financial institutions, including China-based policy banks, Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs) and other financial institutions.
  • Support development engagement strategies for inter-governmental platforms, with a focus on promoting increased international development finance for child-related SDGs.
  • Enhance capacity through training and knowledge-sharing activities and support effective organization and delivery of events to promote financing cooperation with a child-lens.

Requirements

  • Advanced university degree in International Development Studies, International Relations, Environmental Studies, Economics, Finance or another related field
  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience in international development cooperation and financing or South-South and Triangular Cooperation (SSTC).
  • Fluent in English and Chinese (written and spoken)
  • Proven track record in project management, including design, implementation, and monitoring of cross-country initiatives.
  • Experience in supporting partnership building with governments, UN agencies, IFIs, and private sector actors.
  • Excellent analytical and writing skills for producing policy briefs, reports, and knowledge products.
  • Good communication skills for multi-stakeholder engagement.
  • Ability to work in multicultural environments and manage virtual dialogues effectively.
  • Proactive and able to deliver under tight deadlines.
  • Developing country work experience or previous work experience in the related areas is considered an asset.
