See your match score & applyThe intern will support the rollout of the Planning, Monitoring and Reporting (PMR) procedure and the implementation of the PMR training package, including coordination, documentation, consolidation of feedback, and updating of learning materials. The role also involves supporting broader RBM and strategic planning work, including quality assurance of Country Office Strategic Notes and related planning documents, knowledge management, and support to the Strategic Notes Secretariat function.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the rollout of the PMR training package, including coordinating sessions, consolidating feedback, updating PMR training content, and supporting follow-up actions in collaboration with relevant business process owners
- Assist Country Offices, Regional Offices, and Headquarters units in implementing planning, monitoring, and reporting procedures and guidance by drafting emails, attending meetings, preparing notes, following up on pending actions
- Support the Strategic Notes Secretariat function, including coordination of review processes, tracking of submissions, consolidation of inputs, preparation of summary materials, and documentation of decisions and follow-up actions
- Assist in the development and rollout of communication and learning materials, including SharePoint articles, Viva Engage posts, PowerPoint slides, guidance notes, and short videos, to increase the visibility and use of the PMR Policy, Procedures, RBM materials, and training package
- Assist in maintaining, updating, and monitoring the Policy Procedure and Guidance, Strategic Planning and RBM intranet pages
Requirements
- University studies in one of the following disciplines: research, knowledge management, public administration, business management, law, or other relevant subjects is required
- Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent); or have graduated with a university degree and, if selected, must commence the internship within a two-year period of graduation; or be enrolled in a postgraduate professional traineeship program which is part of a degree programme and undertake the internship as part of the program requirements
- Fluency in English is required
- Working knowledge of another UN language is an advantage
- Strong analytical and administrative skills
- Excellent writing, editing and communication skills to communicate clearly and concisely
- Approaches work with energy and a positive, constructive attitude along with strong willingness to learn
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills to listen to and collaborate with a wide range of colleagues
- Able to work independently, be proactive, and take initiative
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
- Strong IT skills (knowledge of web content management systems and PowerPoint development is an asset)
- Familiarity with gender issues and the UN system is an asset
