See your match score & applyThe Financial Policy Officer will provide research, analysis and advice on best banking practices related to Finance Directorate’s activities and first line financial risks to contribute to policy decision-making. The role involves monitoring regulatory developments, designing financial policies, performing financial analysis, and representing the Finance Directorate in internal and external working groups.
Responsibilities
- Monitor developments in regulations and supervisory guidelines impacting the Bank and Finance Directorate and analyse and advise on consequences.
- Contribute to the design, testing, implementation and revision of financial policies related to FI activities and financial risks managed in 1st line by FI directorate.
- Follow best banking practices and practices of other international financial institutions and multilateral development banks.
- Formulate recommendations to FI management.
- Perform financial analysis and impact assessment studies related to policy proposals to support discussion points in committees and working groups.
- Contribute to Bank-wide initiatives such as updates of ILAAP, liquidity contingency planning, ICAAP, risk appetite framework, recovery planning, stress testing, pillar 3 report.
- Prepare notes and briefings on financial policies and regulatory developments for FI management.
- Coordinate the organisation of the Regulatory Committee (REGCOM).
- Develop constructive working relations within the Finance Directorate to ensure effective internal co-operation and communication.
- Represent the Finance Directorate in inter-directorates working groups.
- Maintain relationships with key stakeholders at European institutions and represent the Bank in selected working groups.
Requirements
- University degree (minimum an equivalent to a Bachelor) preferably in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or Law.
- At least 5 years of relevant professional experience acquired preferably in a major financial institution, a consultancy firm, a central bank, a supervisory authority or a major international organisation.
- Good knowledge of the EIB's mission, financial and lending activities.
- Ability to write clear and concise reports.
- Good interpersonal skills and client oriented/service provider approach.
- Capability to work independently.
- Experience in the implementation of projects aiming at ensuring compliance with new regulatory and supervisory requirements (advantage).
- Experience in regulatory watch (advantage).
- General knowledge and professional experience or exposure to capital markets and treasury activities, within front office, middle office/performance management or risk management (advantage).
- Expertise in the design and production of financial reportings in banks, especially in two areas (middle office reportings and/or prudential reporting’s) (advantage).
- Relevant experience in the development and implementation of financial models (advantage).
- Good understanding of accounting principles (advantage).
- Relevant exposure to project management (advantage).
- Excellent knowledge of English and/or French with a good command of the other.
- Knowledge of other EU languages would be an advantage.
