Investment Promotion Agency Advisor

The contractor will support the implementation and delivery of initiatives focused on promoting and attracting foreign direct investment (FDI) in Asia and the Pacific. Responsibilities include developing regulatory framework mapping, delivering webinars and blogs on green investment opportunities, providing capacity building to Pacific SIDs, and developing promotional materials for Lao's Investment Promotion Office.

Responsibilities

• Develop a draft and final version of regulatory framework mapping on smart grid developments.
• Deliver one blog and one webinar on green investment opportunities in ASEAN as well as a webinar on green investment opportunities and pipelines in ASEAN.
• Provide capacity building to Pacific SIDs on attracting FDI into green project pipelines.
• Develop all the promotional material, value propositions, pitch decks, investment scorecards, for Lao’s IPO in their 5 priority sectors identified in their 5-year investment attraction strategy.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in economics, business administration or a related field.
• 3 years of experience in foreign direct investment promotion and attraction with IPAs in Asia and the Pacific.
• Experience in working with the United Nations, and specifically with the United Nations Secretariat.
• Direct experience drafting and advising IPAs in Asia and the Pacific on promotional material development.
• Experience in developing policy briefs, case studies and knowledge products on foreign direct investment promotion and attraction.
• Experience working on foreign direct investment related projects in the ASEAN region and/or Pacific.
• Experience in providing logistical and outreach support for meetings or forums.
• Good spoken communication skills in English.
