The Resource Mobilization Officer supports the coordination, monitoring, and implementation of resource mobilization plans to ensure alignment, coherence, and compliance with agreed standards. The role strengthens coordination, avoids duplication, and enhances capacity and partnerships to support effective and sustainable programme funding.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and track the implementation of resource mobilization work plans and report on progress.
  • Support the review, documentation, and continuous improvement of resource mobilization frameworks.
  • Coordinate and follow up on the development, updating, and implementation of resource mobilization plans across programmes.
  • Liaise with monitoring and evaluation teams to ensure plans are implemented in line with established standards.
  • Facilitate coordination, information sharing, and avoidance of duplication in resource mobilization efforts.
  • Support capacity-building initiatives for State Parties, including structured financing dialogues.
  • Maintain effective internal coordination and working relationships to promote coherent and aligned funding support.
  • Perform any other related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor or by the Director.

Requirements

  • A University Degree in Monitoring and Evaluation, Economics, Statistics, Development Studies, Demography or Public Finance or a related discipline.
  • 2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Sound planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to successfully manage ambiguity.
  • Ability to work across business units/geographies; cultural sensitivity.
  • Proficiency in one of the AU working languages, fluency in another AU language is an added advantage.
