The consultant will lead the SMART 2026 survey in Guinea to evaluate the nutritional status of children under five and contributing factors such as morbidities, vaccination coverage, vitamin A supplementation, and infant and young child feeding practices. The role requires expertise in survey methodology, data analysis, and technical coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise the SMART 2026 nutrition survey in Guinea
  • Ensure quality and validity of survey data and methodology
  • Coordinate technical aspects and team leadership for the survey
  • Analyze complex nutrition and health indicators including IYCF
  • Prepare technical reports and documentation for validation and review committees

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Nutrition or related field
  • Valid SMART certification or documented recent participation in SMART training
  • At least ten (10) years of relevant professional experience including five (5) years in conducting or supervising large-scale SMART surveys
  • Participation as Mission Leader or Technical Coordinator in at least three national SMART surveys validated by the global SMART Team review committee (proof or validation report required)
  • Excellent certified or demonstrated mastery of SMART methodology, ENA for SMART, ODK/KoboCollect and statistical software (R, STATA, SPSS or equivalent)
  • Proven experience in analysis of complex indicators such as Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF)
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Fluency in written French
  • Immediate and continuous availability for 60 days
  • Residence in Guinea or ability to travel there without constraints
