The consultant will support the preparation and facilitation of a regional workshop on school-related gender-based violence (SRGBV), provide expert assistance to country delegations, and develop a regional roadmap and policy brief to advance efforts addressing SRGBV in Southeast Asia. The role involves collaboration with SEAMEO and requires travel to Bangkok, Thailand.

Responsibilities

  • Support the preparation of a three-day regional workshop capacity building package including agenda, programme, session plans, training materials, and methodology in collaboration with partners.
  • Facilitate the three-day regional workshop and provide expert assistance to country delegations to analyze policy diagnostic tool results, identify gender barriers, and develop detailed strategies and Country Action Plans.
  • Provide technical assistance to finalize SEAMEO’s Policy Brief and Regional Roadmap, including a summary of regional context, synthesis of barriers, actionable priorities for the next five years, and capacity needs assessment.
  • Conduct post-activity debriefing and provide actionable feedback to Ministry delegations based on workshop outputs.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Gender Equality, Education, SRGBV or an advanced degree in education, social sciences, gender studies, child protection and social services, international development, or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible relevant experience in education, gender-based violence, including gender norms, mental health, and related fields, working with governments in low- and middle-income countries.
  • Specific experience in School Related Gender Based Violence is a strong asset.
  • Relevant international professional experience in policy review and development of regional frameworks and policy briefs related to child protection, gender-based violence and gender norms in education in developing country contexts.
  • Experience providing high level technical assistance to government and international partner organizations on gender in education, especially gender-based violence in and around schools.
  • Communication skills in English.
  • Experience working in the East Asia Pacific region.
  • Proven experience of high-quality policy support and documentation.
  • Experience working with UNICEF is an asset.
