The position is responsible for driving strategic innovation in UNICEF’s fundraising practices, fostering collaborations, supporting piloting and scaling of innovative fundraising solutions, and consolidating best practices to inform global fundraising priorities. The role ensures UNICEF remains a leading organization of choice for donors through continuous innovation and adaptive fundraising strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the innovation pipeline and oversee project selection, funding allocation, and monitoring of the Fundraising Innovation Fund (FRIF).
  • Facilitate solution development and ensure alignment with global priorities.
  • Maintain repositories and ensure knowledge sharing and scaling of proven solutions.
  • Represent UNICEF in innovation and fundraising networks.
  • Engage with corporates, academia, and experts to expand the innovation ecosystem.
  • Support collaboration across UNICEF innovation initiatives.
  • Manage innovation platforms and tools to coordinate the global fundraising innovation community.
  • Promote participation, collaboration, and visibility of innovation initiatives.
  • Support national innovation challenges and community engagement.
  • Develop guidance, methodologies, and capacity-building tools to promote adoption of fundraising solutions.
  • Support markets in planning and implementing innovation activities.
  • Ensure alignment with global priorities and internal frameworks.
  • Supervise consultants supporting the Fundraising Innovation Programme.
  • Support transition to the next phase (Programme 2.0).
  • Ensure effective recruitment and handover processes.

Requirements

  • Master or equivalent (Advanced University Degree) in Communications, Business Adminstration, Fundraising, Marketing, Innovation and any other related fields.
  • A Bachelor or equivalent (First Level University Degree) in a relevant area combined with 2 additional years of relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree.
  • At least 8 years of relevant work experience in Fund Raising, Innovation, fundraising innovation products, innovation initiatives in nonprofit settings are required and any other related fields.
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is desirable.
  • Experience in Digital Fundraising, Community Management, Innovation Facilitation, Knowledge Management, Capacity Building is desirable.
  • Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts is desirable.
