See your match score & applyThe Protection Information Officer coordinates with protection teams and stakeholders to disseminate accurate information on available services, design and deliver information sessions and materials, maintain referral pathways, and support data management and reporting in the protection sector in Myanmar.
Responsibilities
- Conduct field visits 1-2 times per week to villages, information help desk and urban areas to meet with community members to deliver information on their rights and access to services in their areas.
- Manage the delivery of group information sessions (public speaking) and collect attendance records and evaluation forms.
- Design and implement RISE program and information campaigns, written and oral, with the support of the Protection Manager (Southeast) (including leaflets, posters, bulletin boards, radio broadcasts and others) according to needs outlined in monitoring data.
- Contribute to the maintenance of an up-to-date service mapping of the service providers operating in the area and take proactive steps to remain informed about the available services.
- Identify, establish and support referral mechanisms for services in areas of operation.
- Make referrals to relevant service providers including the UNHCR through standardized referral system and conduct regular follow-up with service providers on referred cases.
- Receive cases referred from other agencies and provide feedback about actions taken when necessary and appropriate in light of confidentiality requirements.
- Keep an up-to-date referral tracking sheet including relevant profile info, follow up actions and updates provided by different stakeholders.
- Conduct advocacy to local service providers regarding protection concerns in coordination with Protection Mobilizers and as directed by the Protection Manager.
- Coordinate with relevant partners for referrals and provision of technical support related to information management.
- Support the team to upload and entry data online (CommCare or Kobo).
- Document all referrals accurately and in a timely manner in the referral documentation system, including all relevant updates and case closure details.
- Perform other duties, as needed or requested by the supervisor.
- Manage, file and store data, ensuring the confidentiality of the information collected and the services provided.
- Provide updates about work planning as requested.
- Support the implementation of M&E tools and report on problems in the implementation of the program.
- Participate in weekly reporting and planning meetings to ensure adherence to standards of care, quality case management and reporting requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Social Science, International Relations, Human Rights, Law, Community Health, Development, or a related field.
- At least two years of prior professional experience in a similar post, preferably with an international organization.
- Good protection background and knowledge of local context.
- Experience in information management and data analysis.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills and ability to meet strict deadlines.
- Good communication skills include the ability to gain trust and build relationships with new communities.
- Good coordination and communication skills for networking with relevant service providers and partners.
- Experience in public speaking and presentation skills.
- Excellent English language and local language skills, oral and written.
- Fluency in Microsoft Office, Combo, and Comcare application usage, and experience in document design and layout.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently.
- Flexible and able to work in a dynamic and diverse environment.
- Fluent in Myanmar and English, both oral and written.
- Fluent in local languages is an asset.
