As a Driver you will provide reliable and safe driving services while ensuring compliance with local traffic rules and UNICEF protocols. You will demonstrate professionalism, discretion, integrity, adaptability, and protocol awareness, supporting administrative tasks and engaging in self-directed learning during non-driving periods.
Responsibilities
- Provide reliable and safe driving services ensuring compliance with local traffic rules and UNICEF protocols.
- Demonstrate highest standards of professionalism, discretion, integrity, adaptability and protocol awareness.
- Support administrative tasks and engage in self-directed learning during non-driving periods.
- Demonstrate a client-oriented approach, courtesy, tact, and a high sense of responsibility.
- Work effectively with people of diverse national and cultural backgrounds.
- Ensure routine vehicle care, maintenance and readiness.
- Use digital tools and tracking systems.
- Complete trip documentation and reporting.
- Maintain communication and emergency readiness.
- Support office operations during idle periods.
Requirements
- A secondary education and a valid driver`s license is required.
- Minimum of two years of professional driving experience in an international organization, embassy or UN system with a safe driving record is required.
- Knowledge of the local driving rules and regulations, local context, vehicle maintenance, GPS navigation or VHF radio is required.
- Proficiency in English and basic Hausa is required.
- Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.
- Experience working in emergency response, international organizations or embassies, with protocol awareness, and airport reception of guests is an asset.
- Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts is an asset.
