This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in Human Resources within an international organization. The intern will be exposed to various HR functions, contributing to the efficient operation of the HR unit and supporting the South Sudan Office. Responsibilities

  • Support outreach efforts for recruitment campaigns.
  • Assist in longlisting and shortlisting candidates based on predefined criteria.
  • Assist with the administration of written assessments to candidates.
  • Provide administrative and logistical support to general recruitment processes.
  • Participate in interview panels and take minutes during interviews.
  • Administer contracts within UNOPS' ERP system, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Research and contribute to the competency-based interview questions library.
  • Coordinate and monitor payments for retainers, ensuring timely processing.
  • Support the HR Officer on a daily basis, facilitating HR policy advice to the portfolio and/or hosted entity personnel.
  • Contribute to other research projects as assigned.
  • Contribute to knowledge management projects, sharing insights and best practices.
  • Provide suggestions for policy improvements based on practical experience.
  • Support process efficiency initiatives to streamline HR operations.
  • Provide input to the development and maintenance of corporate systems and tools.
  • Participate in training on Competency Based Interview Methodology.
  • Learn the use of UNOPS ERP system for HR-related tasks.
  • Gain an understanding of the different contract modalities within UNOPS.
  • Be exposed to different hiring processes and to all the different policies and regulations related to the HR function in UNOPS.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a university degree or have graduated from a university degree within the last 3 years at the time of the application.
  • Preferably the candidate is studying one of the following subjects: Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or related areas.
  • Area of study should preferably be in Human Resource Management.
  • Applicants are not required to have professional work experience.
  • Experience with Google Suite applications is desirable.
  • English language proficiency is required at a fluent level.
  • Arabic language proficiency is desirable at a basic level.
