The position provides support services to contribute to the implementation of NRC's education program strategy in the Northeast area. The role aims to ensure access and continuity of education through remedial learning and socio-emotional learning classes, strengthening basic skills, protection, and well-being of children and adolescents affected by conflict.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure adherence to NRC policies, tools, manuals, and guidelines.
  • Prepare and develop status reports required by management/supervisor.
  • Ensure proper filing of documents.
  • Promote and share ideas to strengthen support functions.
  • Perform duties according to the work plan and development.
  • Together with the Team Leader, identify the appropriate strategy for the context to identify children and adolescents whose right to education is violated.
  • Conduct, in coordination with the Team Leader, educational census and active beneficiary search, articulating community initiatives for effective identification of the project target population.
  • Validate beneficiary registration lists according to NRC formats and guidelines.
  • Socialize the project with beneficiaries and communities through informative meetings to agree on academic activities and project objectives.
  • Support educational needs assessments of beneficiary populations in prioritized territories (children, adolescents, youth, and adults).
  • Aligning with MEN and Education Secretariats directives and NRC requirements, organize and verify required documentation of project participants.
  • Develop academic processes of basic, secondary, and middle education with youth and adults according to NRC's pedagogical plan and methodology.
  • Develop and design the Pedagogical Plan with participants, ensuring application of established pedagogical and methodological criteria.
  • Facilitate educational workshops, pedagogical sessions, and training meetings aimed at promoting and strengthening educational processes: reading, writing, mathematics skills; socio-emotional learning; remedial classes; leveling and transition programs; safe behaviors; and recreational activities.
  • Disseminate key messages about the right to education, access routes to educational services, and life skills information directed at children, adolescents, youth, and populations at risk of school dropout.
  • Apply and comply with Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) tools, ensuring timely follow-up of project participants.
  • Participate in training and update sessions related to NRC's educational program.
  • Support implementation of PSI activities included in the country office Action Plan relevant to the unit/team.
  • Perform other tasks assigned by the supervisor to meet the position's objectives.

Requirements

  • Professional recently graduated or in final semesters with a University Degree in education sciences (Spanish Language, Biology-Chemistry, Mathematics, Social Studies) or Normalista Superior with proven experience in education.
  • Work experience in support functions in humanitarian aid contexts.
  • Previous work experience in complex and changing contexts is highly desirable.
  • Experience in educational processes/projects for children, youth, and adults in emergency situations with a focus on access, well-being, and retention.
  • Desirable minimum of one (1) year experience in implementation of educational actions.
  • Experience in implementing pedagogical and didactic strategies to strengthen basic educational competencies with a differential and inclusive approach and development of response strategies implemented within Education in Emergencies framework.
  • Work experience and permanence in the region.
  • Knowledge of the humanitarian context is positively valued.
  • Sensitivity and respect for vulnerable populations and contexts of cultural, ethnic, and gender diversity.
  • Knowledge of the educational context and the political and social situation of the country.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Skills to manage information and prepare reports.
  • Proven experience in the use of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
