The Intern – Health Assessment Programmes will assist in supporting the Health Assessment Programme (HAP) within the Migration Health Division. The role involves knowledge management, quality assurance support, client feedback compilation, and administrative coordination to facilitate migration health services globally.

Responsibilities

  • Support knowledge management activities, including organizing content on SharePoint and internal Migration Health platforms.
  • Track outdated or inconsistent information on IOM Migration Health and Health Assessment Centre (MHAC) websites and pages, compile findings, and follow up with relevant focal points to support timely updates.
  • Support the compilation of client feedback, survey inputs, and basic analytics related to Information, Communication and Education (IEC) and HAP communications.
  • Support the creation of a master sheet with predefined prompts for tracking online third-party community feedback on Migration Health Assessment Centres (MHAC) through the Meltwater Explore tool.
  • Support HAP quality assurance (QA) initiatives, by assisting in the review of MHAC assessment forms and related tools, and assisting with the coordination and documentation of virtual QA visits to selected MHACs.
  • Assist in compiling and summarizing incident management status, focusing on administrative follow up when needed.
  • Assist with proposal development tasks (e.g., Modular Tuberculosis (TB) proposal by gathering inputs and supporting preparatory work.
  • Follow up with country and regional offices on information requests, inputs, and action points, and track responses to support timely implementation of HAP activities.
  • Assist in keeping track of Migration Health Division (MHD) programming communication priorities and cross divisional requests from other administrative divisions like translation, procurement, ICT etc.
  • Provide general administrative and coordination support, including meeting notes, follow up tracking and document formatting.
  • Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent) in International Studies, Public or Global Health, Health Promotion or a related field from an accredited institution; or be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or graduated within the last 12 months with a Bachelor's degree or higher in International Studies, Public or Global Health, Health Promotion or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Experience in the usage of office software packages (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook etc.), including SharePoint.
  • Knowledge of spreadsheet and data analysis; and design software like Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Experience working on health and migration issues an advantage; experience working with health data desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to write clearly and concisely, proven skills in writing summary documents and editing reports, project documents and proposals, is desirable.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively and harmoniously in a team of colleagues of varied cultural and professional backgrounds.
  • Practical experience of how-to multi-task, prioritize and work independently.
  • Fluency in English (oral and written) is required; working knowledge of French and/or Spanish is an advantage.
