The internship supports the APAC Regional Team of the UNEP Finance Initiative by providing administrative support, conducting research on financial markets, and assisting in capacity-building activities. The role involves scheduling meetings, organizing documents, and supporting training programmes to promote sustainable finance.

Responsibilities

  • Support administrative tasks, including scheduling meetings, taking minutes, and organizing documents to ensure smooth operational flow.
  • Conduct research on financial markets and data analysis to inform strategic decision-making processes.
  • Assist in the implementation of capacity building initiatives, supporting training programmes, coordination during events/training and resource allocation to enhance team performance.
  • Support APAC Regional Team members across different functions and tasks.

Requirements

  • Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher) or be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent) or have graduated with a university degree and commence the internship within a one-year period of graduation.
  • Bachelor's or graduate student with an academic background in environment, sustainability, nature, or biodiversity, combined with a strong research background and an interest in or understanding of sustainable finance.
  • Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience.
  • Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master’s or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PH.D. Programme.
  • Fluency in oral and written English is required.
  • Knowledge of Chinese is desirable.
  • Selected candidates will be required to provide proof of enrolment or expected graduation date.
  • Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations.
  • Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
  • Interns who are not citizens or permanent residents of the country where the internship is undertaken, may be required to obtain the appropriate visa and work/employment authorization.
