The Electrical Engineer will provide technical assistance and support for the management and implementation of educational infrastructure projects focused on indigenous and quilombola communities in Brazil. The role requires working remotely with availability for meetings during business hours and travel as needed, supporting the strengthening of project management and technical capacity for infrastructure development.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical expertise and support for electrical engineering aspects of educational infrastructure projects.
- Contribute to the strengthening of technical and operational capacity of state and municipal teams managing construction projects.
- Support the monitoring and evaluation of ongoing infrastructure projects to ensure quality and compliance with standards.
- Participate in meetings and coordinate with stakeholders to facilitate project implementation and problem resolution.
- Assist in the development and implementation of methodologies and tools for project planning, monitoring, execution, and evaluation.
- Support the management of social, health, safety, security, and environmental aspects related to construction projects in indigenous and quilombola communities.
Requirements
- Must have a suitable home working environment with own laptop, software, and internet connection.
- Availability to participate in meetings during business hours.
- Availability for travel; UNOPS will cover travel costs as per procedures and rules.
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience in electrical engineering or infrastructure projects.
- Experience in project management, particularly in construction or educational infrastructure projects is desirable.
- Technical knowledge related to electrical systems in building construction.
- Ability to work independently and remotely with effective communication skills.
- Experience working with public institutions or international organizations is an asset.
- Fluency in Portuguese and English is desirable.
