The role involves managerial leadership, programme development, monitoring, advisory services, advocacy, partnership building, and capacity building.
Responsibilities
- Provide managerial leadership to the child protection section.
- Develop and plan programmes to achieve concrete and sustainable results.
- Manage, monitor, and ensure quality control of programme results.
- Provide advisory services and technical support.
- Engage in advocacy, networking, and partnership building.
- Promote innovation, knowledge management, and capacity building.
Requirements
- Master or equivalent (Advanced University Degree) in Psychology, Sociology, International Law, Social Science, International Development, Human Rights, or other related fields.
- At least 10 years of relevant work experience in child protection, programme management, strategic planning, monitoring and evaluation, policy advocacy, partnership development, humanitarian coordination, emergency preparedness, capacity building, knowledge management, or other related fields.
- Proficiency in English is required.
- Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is desirable.
- Experience in developing countries, multilateral agencies, humanitarian contexts, development contexts, UN system, and local language proficiency are considered assets.
- Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts.
