The Intern will provide analytical and operational support to the Learning workstream in the Department of Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (DMEL). The role includes assisting with knowledge product development, supporting internal and external engagements, and contributing to strategic priorities of DMEL.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the team with external partners engagements, and high-level speakers' series, including the writing of brief notes, PPTs, memos, minutes as well as preparing of other supporting material and providing logistical support
  • Support the establishment of systematic learning loops, systems, and methodologies
  • Supporting the team with content development including benchmarking exercises, surveys, multimedia and visual knowledge products
  • Providing support to internal communities of practice (CoPs) led by the team through analysis, note taking, and follow ups
  • Coordinate various internal collaborative initiatives
  • The curation of an online network of resources, coordinated by the Climate Science Lead
  • Supporting other strategic and corporate priorities of the Department

Requirements

  • Enrolled in Master’s program in International Relations, Social Sciences, Law, Finance, Economics, Science or related fields
  • Knowledge and experience in analysing complex problems, data and processes; and coordinating collaboration between multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to multitask and deliver within tight timelines, while demonstrating attention to detail
  • Excellent drafting, presentation and communication skills
  • Good understanding and experience in climate change, climate finance and/or designing and implementing projects in developing countries is an added advantage
  • Proficiency in using standard software programs: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Asana or other project management software
  • Fluency in English is essential; knowledge of another United Nations language, in particular French and Spanish, and/or Portuguese is an advantage
