The Partnerships Specialist position is a temporary assignment to cover maternity leave, ensuring continuity in partnership management, reporting, and stakeholder engagement during the incumbent’s absence. The role safeguards operational stability, maintains time-bound deliverables, and mitigates risks of delays in implementation, reporting, and partner engagement. The Specialist will contribute to YuWaah’s mandate by ensuring diversity of partners, catalysing multi-partner engagements, leading fundraising efforts, and leveraging non-monetary resources to strengthen the platform.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement annual partnership engagement and resource mobilization plans for YuWaah.
- Grow strategic long-term, flexible income through partners and board members to sustain YuWaah as a platform.
- Lead management of existing YuWaah partnerships (both local and global) with support from the Secretariat to enhance engagement with partners, including reporting, participation in governance and co-creation at YuWaah.
- Support the management of the board and leadership council at YuWaah.
- Support advocacy efforts of YuWaah with a particular focus on the private sector.
- Establish and manage partnerships that can help leverage funds for enhancing the goals of YuWaah.
- Provide inputs into partnerships plans and strategy for YuWaah.
- Report on progress based on timelines linked to donor reports and any other national or global reporting requirements.
- Establish programmatic and strategic relationships.
Requirements
- Master or equivalent (Advanced University Degree) in Social Science, International Development or any other relevant field.
- At least 5 years of relevant work experience in the Development Sector focusing on Partnerships and Fund Raising or any other related field.
- Knowledge in donor relations, stakeholder engagement, program reporting, governance, resource mobilization is required.
- Proficiency in English is required.
- Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or the local language is an asset.
- Experience in Advocacy, Youth programs and UN experience are considered assets.
- Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts.
