The CP Manager leads child protection programmes in Gaza and the West Bank, focusing on safeguarding vulnerable children, strengthening national child protection systems, and advancing child safeguarding. The role involves managing all stages of child protection projects, ensuring sustainable contributions to national and international child protection efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise all stages of child protection programmes and projects from strategic planning to delivery.
  • Establish plans of action and oversee work progress to ensure achievement of programme and project results in line with approved plans and UNICEF’s Strategic Plans.
  • Provide advisory services and technical support in child protection.
  • Engage in advocacy, networking and partnership building to support child protection goals.
  • Promote innovation, knowledge management and capacity building within the child protection programme.

Requirements

  • Master or equivalent (Advanced University Degree) in international development, human rights, psychology, sociology, international law, or another relevant social science field.
  • At least 8 years of relevant work experience in social development planning and management, monitoring and evaluation in child protection related areas, at the international level, is required.
  • Required skills include family-based alternative care programming, programme development, programme planning, and programme management.
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.
  • Experience working in a developing country is considered as an asset.
  • Relevant experience in programme development in child protection related areas, in particular family based alternative care programming in a UN system agency or organization is considered as an asset.
  • Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts.
