The internship supports OCHA’s Pooled Fund Management Branch in New York, assisting with preparation of analysis, background materials, talking points, and key messages related to OCHA-managed Pooled Funds. Interns engage with stakeholders and contribute to drafting reports, briefings, policy guidelines, and official communications for donors and senior management.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares or contributes to the preparation of various written reports, documents and communications, e.g. drafts sections of studies, background papers, policy guidelines, briefings, case studies, presentations.
  • Prepares background information, talking points and key messages related to OCHA’s Pooled Funds for use in OCHA Senior Management briefing materials.
  • Supports regular outreach and dialogue with key stakeholders including other UN agencies, non-governmental organizations, and prepare related background material.
  • Reviews and provides support to policy issues related to OCHA’s Pooled Funds.
  • Participates in work groups, meetings, conferences, consultations with other agencies and partners on oversight and compliance related matters.
  • Supports maintenance of internal databases and updating of contact lists.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent).
  • Fluency in English (Level II) is required.
  • Knowledge of French (Level 1) is required.
