See your match score & applyThe Communications Intern will support the daily communications work of the Corruption and Financial Crime Branch at UNODC. The intern will assist with tracking and analyzing information, drafting web stories and social media posts, implementing communication campaigns, developing graphics, and creating social media reports.
Responsibilities
- Tracking, researching and analyzing information on assigned topics, gathering information from diverse sources and helping assess news value and other potential impact.
- Drafting web stories and social media posts.
- Assisting with the implementation of the Section’s communication campaigns.
- Developing graphics for social media and the website.
- Creating monthly social media reports.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Recognised 1st level degree is an asset.
- Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in, or have recently completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) be enrolled in, or have recently completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent).
- Meeting of the below additional requirements is desirable: (c) be enrolled in a graduate school programme in journalism, communications, digital communications, media studies, filmmaking, graphic design or related field (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (d) be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme in journalism, communications, digital communications, media studies, filmmaking, graphic design or related field (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent); or (e) have graduated with a university degree in journalism, communications, digital communications, media studies, filmmaking, graphic design or related field.
- Be computer literate in standard software applications.
- Have a demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter.
- Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, including willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.
- No working experience is required to apply for the United Nations Internship Programme.
- Applicants must provide official written proof from the university supporting one of the eligibility criteria.
- Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official United Nations language is an advantage.
