The position supports the AMEXCID-PNUD Cooperation Program to strengthen Mexico's international development cooperation policies and institutional capacities. The role provides legal advice on treaties, agreements, and cooperation programs, ensuring alignment with national and international law, and supports the supervision of agricultural cooperation programs in Central America and the Caribbean.

Responsibilities

  • Provide legal advice to AMEXCID regarding the signing of treaties, memorandums of understanding (MoU), and financing agreements with strategic partners.
  • Analyze various legal documents of ongoing cooperation programs to ensure their normative protection and alignment with national and international legislation.
  • Support supervision of agricultural cooperation programs in Central America and the Caribbean from a legal perspective.
  • Assist in reviewing contracts, communications, and all types of documents to mitigate legal risks and prevent institutional non-compliance.
  • Respond to various legal inquiries related to international development cooperation projects received by the Agency.

Requirements

  • Certificado de preparatoria (Bachillerato) is required.
  • Título de Licenciatura en Derecho, Administración, Ciencias Sociales is not required but will be given due consideration.
  • Candidates with preparatoria certificate require 7 years of experience in public administration legal matters.
  • Candidates with a licenciatura require 4 years of experience in the mentioned topics.
  • Knowledge of the Law of International Cooperation for Development and international legal frameworks.
  • Experience in federal, state, or municipal public administration.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to identify legal gaps is desired.
  • Experience in legal analysis of agricultural projects or similar is desired.
  • Experience responding to information requests or citizen services is desired.
  • Applicant must be a Mexican citizen in full exercise of their rights or a foreigner with a migratory status allowing the function to be performed.
