The role involves programme development, management, monitoring, humanitarian preparedness, partnership building, and capacity building focused on water, sanitation and hygiene projects.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical, operational and administrative assistance throughout the WASH programming process.
- Prepare, manage and implement technical and administrative tasks related to development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of WASH output results of the country programme.
- Work on Environmental and Social Safeguard aspects in the programme and project cycle of water, sanitation and hygiene projects in Gaza.
- Support programme development and planning.
- Manage programme monitoring and delivery of results.
- Provide technical and operational support for programme implementation.
- Support humanitarian WASH preparedness and response.
- Engage in networking and partnership building.
- Contribute to innovation, knowledge management and capacity building.
Requirements
- An advanced university degree in environmental, civil, sanitary, water engineering or another relevant technical field is required.
- At least 2 years of professional work experience in WASH-related programmes for developing countries is required.
- Programme Management, Monitoring and Evaluation, Programme Implementation, Prepare Reports, Partnership building, Knowledge management skills are required.
- Fluency in English and Arabic is required.
- Knowledge of another official UN language (Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) is an asset.
- Additional relevant post-graduate courses that complement/supplement the main degree are a strong asset.
- Emergency response experience, environmental and social impact assessment experience, experience with donor safeguard procedures, CATS principles experience are desirable.
- Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts is desirable.
