Storekeeper SSA4

The Storekeeper SSA4 is responsible for handling receipt, dispatch, and verification of commodities to maximize warehouse operation quality and mitigate losses. The role supports storage management practices in compliance with WFP standards and contributes to emergency response within warehouse operations.

Responsibilities

• Effectively receive/dispatch commodities including transhipment (truck to truck) against official approved documentation ensuring accuracy in physical count and quality compliance.
• Prepare, verify and sign off warehouse and transport documents, maintain confidential files and accurate warehouse transaction records for immediate reporting on commodity movements.
• Conduct daily warehouse closing reconciliation and accurate inventory checks supporting internal control systems in compliance with warehouse management requirements.
• Perform daily inspections and prepare reports on quantity and quality of commodities received/dispatched and handled, detect and analyze reasons for stock discrepancies/damages, investigate missing quantity and prepare warehouse loss reports recommending solutions.
• Implement appropriate measures to safeguard food and non-food commodities, ensuring quality control using standard preventive measures in line with WFP procedures and supervisor authorization.
• Monitor condition of warehouse and commodities and take appropriate actions to support efficient warehouse space-planning and well-organized commodity storage following WFP standards.
• Provide guidance and on-the-job training to warehouse staff to contribute to their development and high performance.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements

• Completion of secondary school education. A post-secondary certificate in the related functional area is desirable.
• At least four (4) years of progressively responsible experience with at least one (1) year experience in supporting warehouse management, inventory management, and data entry, including various aspects of logistics operation/supply chain operation.
• Fluency in both oral and written communication in English and Arabic. Knowledge of French language is an added advantage.
• Experience in managing warehouses with food and non-food items (NFIs).
• Experience in managing inventories.
