See your match score & applyThe Information Management Officer supports MPX’s global or regional programmes by ensuring information management systems meet operational needs and have high adoption rates. The role involves business process modelling, developing SOPs, providing technical guidance, and supporting data reporting and visualization for migrant assistance.
Responsibilities
- Carry out business process modelling and analyse direct assistance workflows of priority Regional and Country Offices, evaluate information management requirements to support workflow processes and document functional specifications.
- Contribute to the development and update of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), guidelines, policies, and capacity-building materials to strengthen MPX information management activities and MiMOSA and IMAP usage.
- Apply IOM’s Data Protection Principles, Data Governance Policy, and other relevant ethical and operational guidelines.
- Provide technical guidance and support to the Regional and Country Offices in MPX information management.
- Support the expansion of the use of MiMOSA and IMAP to facilitate the adoption of the platforms consistently across the Organization.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of trainings for relevant programme staff.
- Develop data reports and data output functionality for MiMOSA and IMAP to meet the requirements of internal and external stakeholders, ensure the inclusion of migrant assistance data in visual analytic applications.
- Contribute to the development of ad hoc data collection solutions to support the Regional and Country Offices.
- Contribute to quality control and standardisation efforts for data generated by and shared from MPX to ensure validity and reliability over time.
- Provide technical inputs and information for the development of partnerships with private sector entities to support MPX’s information management strategy.
- Contribute to the development of regular information and knowledge products on migrant assistance, including inputs for research publications and assisting with the development of partnerships with academic and research institutions.
- Recommend and implement technical solutions related to data collection, analysis, and visualization of migrant assistance data, in line with best practices on data security and data protection.
- Undertake travel duties as required.
- Perform such other duties as may be assigned.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Political Science, Economics, Public Health, Migration Studies, Computer Science, or a related field from an accredited academic institution with two years of relevant professional experience; or, Bachelor's degree in the above fields with four years of relevant professional experience.
- Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.
- Experience in the field of migrant assistance, particularly Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration (AVRR) and protection.
- Proven ability or experience to deliver technical trainings.
- Experience with statistical analysis tools.
- Experience in case management/customer relationship management systems is desirable.
- Experience in the use of SalesForce is desirable.
- Excellent qualitative and quantitative data analysis skills and demonstrated ability to produce high-quality reports.
- Excellent data management skills, including the development and management of databases.
- Excellent data verification, validation, classification and transformation skills.
- Fluency in English (oral and written) is required.
- Working knowledge of French is an advantage.
