The Security Specialist advises on security-related duties and responsibilities in accordance with the United Nations and UNICEF Security Management Systems. The role involves managing and supporting all security-related activities within the country or area of responsibility to ensure the safety and security of personnel, assets, operations, and programmes.
Responsibilities
- Advise the Hub Coordinator on security-related duties and responsibilities in accordance with the United Nations and UNICEF Security Management Systems.
- Contribute to the UNICEF mandate through robust security risk analysis, sound security advice, and the implementation of appropriate risk mitigation measures.
- Manage and support all security-related activities within the country or area of responsibility, ensuring the safety and security of personnel, assets, operations, and programmes.

Requirements
- Master or equivalent (Advanced University Degree) in security and any other related fields.
- A minimum of five years of professional experience in global security risk management and/or security analysis is required.
- Communication, Collaboration, Problem-solving, Adaptability, Diplomacy, Resilience are required skills.
- Fluency in French is required.
- Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, English, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is desirable.
- Demonstrated international security management experience and understanding of the United Nations Security Management System is highly desirable.
- Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts is desirable.
