The intern will assist in providing support to the Family Reunification Unit, supporting activities related to DNA testing for family reunification, data collection, case management tools, and dissemination of information regarding family reunification as a legal entry channel to Italy.

Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of the activities related to the use of DNA test to facilitate family reunification to Italy for migrants and refugees.
  • Support the collection of disaggregated and anonymous data of the beneficiaries of the program for publications, briefings and other relevant communication purposes.
  • Support the development/adaptation of existing tools for case management.
  • Support the collection of data and relevant legislations and practices related to the family reunification procedures in Italy and other EU member states.
  • Support the dissemination of information regarding family reunification as legal entry channel to Italy.
  • Perform other tasks related to the execution of the program, as assigned by the Supervisor.

Requirements

  • Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum bachelor’s level or equivalent); or Be enrolled in a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or Have graduated with one of the above university degrees and, if selected, must commence the internship within one year of graduation.
  • Assisted in basic administrative tasks such as document filing, data entry, and email correspondence.
  • Participated in research and data collection activities related to project implementation.
  • Previous experience in migration and asylum field would be considered an advantage.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Problem-solving attitude and willingness to learn quickly.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work accurately with data and documents.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Fluency in Italian and English (oral and written) is required; knowledge of Somali (oral and written) is an advantage.
  • Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.
