This internship offers practical experience in water, hygiene, and sanitation specifically in schools and health centers. The intern will support UNICEF's program in improving access to potable water and hygiene conditions in vulnerable communities in Benin.
Responsibilities
- Support knowledge production, capitalization, and dissemination on Water, Hygiene, and Sanitation initiatives in schools and health centers
- Document processes and impacts of interventions including unexpected effects
- Analyze practices through reports and technical sheets and propose content for communication tools to change persistent bad practices
- Be sensitive to inclusion issues, focusing on menstrual hygiene and equitable access for persons with disabilities
- Contribute innovative ideas to sustainably improve quality and accessibility of services
Requirements
- Be of Beninese nationality
- Be enrolled in a Master's degree program (BAC +5) in Water, Hygiene, and Sanitation or be a recent graduate (within 2 years) in the field of Water, Hygiene, Sanitation
- Fluency in French and practical knowledge of English
- Good academic results demonstrated by recent university records or a reference letter from an academic supervisor
- No immediate family member working in a UNICEF office
- No other family member in the line of authority to whom the intern will report
- Not disqualified under UNICEF Child Protection Standards (DHR/STANDARDS/2019/001) or as amended
- Demonstrate UNICEF core values: Care, Respect, Integrity, Trust, Accountability, and Sustainability (CRITAS)
