The Project Assistant will support the implementation of projects and activities related to Labour Mobility and Social Inclusion under the supervision of the project manager and the Head of Unit. The role includes assisting with project management tasks, research, administrative support, event organization, and outreach activities.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Project Management Teams with the implementation and follow-up on project activities including research tasks, administrative tasks and logistical organization of meetings and events.
- Assist with drafting/formatting meeting reports, minutes, routine correspondence, letters, reports, memoranda and IOM operational and administrative documents.
- Support the development of new projects and initiatives including drafting/formatting concept notes and project proposals.
- Assist in drafting/formatting public information documents, website articles, press releases and information dissemination.
- Identify possible partnerships with private sector, civil society and other stakeholders to improve knowledge on migration initiatives and policies.
- Assist with drafting/formatting presentations and speeches related to integration for the LMI Head of Unit or Chief of Mission.
- Prepare for, participate in and follow-up on meetings and conferences on behalf of the organization.
- Perform any other tasks as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in economics, social science, migration studies or related field from an accredited academic institution with one year of relevant professional experience.
- OR Completed High School degree with three years of relevant professional experience.
- Demonstrated first working experience or internship in the area of project management, reporting or monitoring and evaluation of projects.
- Demonstrated first working experience or internship in the area of migrant integration or labour migration.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Experience in liaison with non-governmental organizations, national, regional and international authorities and institutions is an advantage.
- Fluency in English (oral and written) is required.
- Advanced knowledge of Dutch or French (oral and written) is required.
