The internship at the Asian and Pacific Training Centre for Information and Communication Technology for Development (APCICT/ESCAP) involves supporting programme management activities including drafting documents, attending meetings, conducting research, and assisting in project implementation. The internship is full-time, unpaid, and lasts between two to six months at the duty station in Incheon, Republic of Korea.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in drafting and preparing official documents.
  • Attend and summarize conferences and meetings, including Expert Group meetings and workshops.
  • Support organization of meetings and conferences.
  • Assist in data collection of ICT trends and policies.
  • Conduct research and provide analysis on relevant issues.
  • Assist in drafting and preparing background documents, reports, issue briefs, talking points, articles, presentations etc.
  • Monitor regional and global news sources for articles and stories relevant to ICT for development.
  • Support implementation of projects.
  • Assist in maintaining databases.
  • Perform additional duties as may be required.

Requirements

  • Applicants must be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher) or be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent).
  • No professional work experience is required for participation in the programme.
  • A keen interest in project implementation and capacity building is a definite advantage.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English is required for the internship.
