You will contribute to the development, assembly, and installation of RF components for the High-Luminosity LHC (HL-LHC) galleries, working closely with a multidisciplinary mechanical team. You will be fully integrated into the R&D team, collaborating with engineers, technicians, and students on innovative projects aimed at improving the performance of existing accelerators and contributing to the development of future high-energy machines.

Responsibilities

  • Design mechanical components and assemblies using CATIA (2D and 3D CAD).
  • Support the full project lifecycle.
  • Design and documentation.
  • Procurement of parts and materials.
  • Project tracking and coordination.
  • Preparation and packaging of equipment.
  • Installation and commissioning on site.

Requirements

  • You are a national of a CERN Member State or Associate Member State, excluding Pakistani and Lithuanian nationals for 2026 start date positions.
  • By the application deadline, you have a maximum of 2 years of professional experience since graduation in a technical or administrative field.
  • Your highest educational qualification is a general secondary education diploma or a shorter non-university degree.
  • You cannot hold a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree or PhD.
  • You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
  • Experience or a strong background in mechanical design.
  • Experience using 2D/3D CAD software, preferably CATIA.
  • Familiarity with technical drawings, project follow-up, and mechanical assembly activities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in an industrial, laboratory, or research environment is considered an asset.
  • Your studies focused on Mechanical Engineering.
  • A valid driving licence.
  • Stand-by duty, when required by the needs of the Organization.
  • Work in Radiation Areas.
  • Interventions in underground installations.
