You will contribute to the development, assembly, and installation of RF components for the High-Luminosity LHC (HL-LHC) galleries, working closely with a multidisciplinary mechanical team. You will be fully integrated into the R&D team, collaborating with engineers, technicians, and students on innovative projects aimed at improving the performance of existing accelerators and contributing to the development of future high-energy machines.
Responsibilities
- Design mechanical components and assemblies using CATIA (2D and 3D CAD).
- Support the full project lifecycle.
- Design and documentation.
- Procurement of parts and materials.
- Project tracking and coordination.
- Preparation and packaging of equipment.
- Installation and commissioning on site.
Requirements
- You are a national of a CERN Member State or Associate Member State, excluding Pakistani and Lithuanian nationals for 2026 start date positions.
- By the application deadline, you have a maximum of 2 years of professional experience since graduation in a technical or administrative field.
- Your highest educational qualification is a general secondary education diploma or a shorter non-university degree.
- You cannot hold a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree or PhD.
- You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
- Experience or a strong background in mechanical design.
- Experience using 2D/3D CAD software, preferably CATIA.
- Familiarity with technical drawings, project follow-up, and mechanical assembly activities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint.
- Experience in an industrial, laboratory, or research environment is considered an asset.
- Your studies focused on Mechanical Engineering.
- A valid driving licence.
- Stand-by duty, when required by the needs of the Organization.
- Work in Radiation Areas.
- Interventions in underground installations.
