The Project Associate supports information management and reporting activities for the WASH programme in Cox's Bazar, including data collection, validation, dashboard maintenance, report generation, and coordination with field teams and partners. The role involves frequent field visits to camps and supports monitoring, evaluation, and donor reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, compile, clean, and validate WASH programme data from field teams and implementing partners to support accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of dashboard reporting.
  • Maintain and regularly update the WASH programme dashboard in close coordination with NPM team, timely track key indicators, project progress, service coverage, and operational performance and report deviations to the supervisor.
  • Generate routine information products, including weekly, monthly, RCP sector 4W matrix, quarterly and annual situation reports based on updated achievement/progress of WASH interventions by both IOM and IPs within the targeted locations and submission for internal and external circulation.
  • Support data quality assurance processes by participating in data verification, data analysis, identifying inconsistencies, and liaising with field teams and implementing partners to address reporting gaps.
  • Support IOM WASH unit with preparation and organizing assessment, monitoring, evaluation, data management including geo-database preparation and maintenance data analysis and preparation of reports and maps.
  • Assist in preparation of data collection questionnaires against the agreed indicators to measure qualitative and quantitative achievement for periodic review and donor reporting.
  • Support development of infrastructure construction and implementing partner progress monitoring tools and facilitate the use of digital platforms for data storage, dashboard visualization, and generation of actionable insights to inform operational planning and decision-making.
  • Assist the programme manager and M&E officer in periodically updating project monitoring frameworks and guidelines for programme activities implemented directly by IOM and through implementing partners.
  • Support the National Programme Officer in reviewing reports from implementing partners and providing feedback to strengthen reporting quality and compliance.
  • Collaborate with other assistants working in the camps to analyze and compile programme data into concise results reports, impact summaries, and success stories for periodic internal and external dissemination.
  • Support preparation of interim and final donor reports by consolidating implementing partner and internal field reports for the National Programme Officer and Programme Manager to review and finalize.
  • Assist the Senior Programme Associate in conducting camp need assessments and preparing materials for project proposals.
  • Generate and present any other documents necessary for project development, reporting and donor liaison purposes.
  • Keep accurate and pertinent records of all correspondence, project development and reporting files and administrative information for future auditing.
  • Perform other duties that may be assigned by the Supervisor or Programme Manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in statistics, social science, development planning, geography and urban planning or a related field from an accredited academic institution with three years of relevant professional experience; or an accredited school diploma with five years of relevant professional experience.
  • Experience in collection, consolidation, storage and analysis of quantitative and qualitative data from multiple sources.
  • Experience in succinct information analysis and report writing.
  • Good understanding of design and development of Monitoring, Evaluation, Learning and Accountability methodologies and tools.
  • Previous experience in establishing and managing complaint-response mechanisms.
  • Knowledge of digital data collection platforms and methodologies including Kobo platform and GIS is mandatory.
  • Excellent computer skills: excellent knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and email/internet software, statistical analysis packages.
  • Good skills in training and capacity building in Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E).
  • Knowledge of SPSS and Access database is an advantage.
  • Previous experience monitoring WASH activities and/or GBV activities is an advantage.
  • Fluency in English and Bengali is required.
  • Chittagonian language is an added advantage.
