See your match score & applyThe consultant will review, update, and harmonize national policies, guidelines, and training curricula related to postpartum hemorrhage (PPH) and emergency obstetric and newborn care (EmONC) protocols to incorporate the E-MOTIVE approach. This role supports the Safer Births in Crises Initiative in South Sudan to improve maternal health outcomes through evidence-based practices.
Responsibilities
- Submit an inception report including methodology, workplan, and timeline within 1 week after contract signing.
- Develop tools and instruments for the assignment.
- Conduct desk review relevant to the assignment.
- Engage SBC Consortium members, TAG, and key stakeholders through consultative meetings/workshops.
- Update agreed protocols incorporating early detection methods and standardized treatment bundle (E-MOTIVE).
- Update clinical guidelines, SOPs, and job aids.
- Develop a costed dissemination and implementation plan.
- Prepare draft report and present preliminary findings to consortium and partners for feedback.
- Revise and submit final report including recommendations.
- Facilitate a national validation workshop.
Requirements
- Graduate level degree (MA, MPH) in International Health and Development or related program (coursework in Family Planning / Reproductive Health / Population Studies / Policy Analysis is preferred).
- Experience working in health and development in general, and conducting research and surveys in Health, SRH, and/or family planning is preferred.
- Excellent judgment, conceptual and analytical thinking ability.
- Skills in policy, advocacy, communication, and interaction with governmental and nongovernmental partners in health.
- Proven experience in developing or revising clinical guidelines and protocols including strong knowledge of PPH management and EmONC.
- Familiarity with WHO guidelines and the E-MOTIVE approach is an added advantage.
- Excellent writing and facilitation skills.
