See your match score & applyThis internship position supports the eTrade Initiatives Section in analysis and organization of technical assistance projects related to inclusive digital economies and female digital entrepreneurship. The intern will assist in capacity-building initiatives, drafting inputs for studies, organizing workshops, and preparing communication materials.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the planning and organization of capacity-building initiatives focusing on empowering women digital entrepreneurs from the Global South, including supporting communication with relevant stakeholders and preparing related background documentation.
- Draft inputs for analytical studies, policy briefs and presentations on issues related to women and digital entrepreneurship.
- Assist with the organization of a Workshop on Empowering Women Entrepreneurs in E-commerce and Digital Businesses in October and November in China.
- Provide substantive support for the preparation of relevant documents (e.g. presentations, project documents) as required.
- Assist with proofreading, editing and translating documents and reports for various stakeholders.
- Assist in the organization and servicing of briefings, meetings, etc.
- Assist in the preparation of communication-related materials for planned activities (news items, web content, social media posts, etc.).
- Assist in communicating with workshop participants and relevant Chinese stakeholders.
- Support other activities of the Section as required.
Requirements
- Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent).
- Should be computer literate in standard software applications.
- Have a demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter.
- Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, including willingness to understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.
- No working experience is required to apply for the United Nations Internship Programme.
- A field of study closely related to the type of internship applied for is required.
- Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master’s or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s or Ph.D. Programme.
- Fluency spoken and written in English and Chinese is required.
- Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage.
