See your match score & applyThe Psychologist provides psychosocial support services in compliance with SCI guidelines at the country office level supporting the Egypt Response program. The role involves conducting individual and group sessions for unaccompanied and separated children (UASC), children at risk, and youth, performing assessments, organizing awareness sessions, and referring acute cases to specialized services.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the design/update of intake forms, session plans, and follow-up forms for children and their families.
- Collaborate with the MEAL team to administer psychometric assessments and deliver reports.
- Develop psychological intervention plans for identified cases and follow up regularly.
- Conduct one to one and group counselling sessions with children and families referred from project activities and other projects.
- Identify, assess, and refer severe cases to appropriate psychological/psychiatric service providers.
- Prepare and submit individual case reports and document case progress.
- Attend supervision meetings with MHPSS TA or MHPSS officer for support and discussion.
- Ensure psychological interventions are informed by current scientific evidence and adhere to highest standards.
- Work closely with project officer and manager to develop and implement project work plan and activities.
- Assist the PSS project team in material development and training deliveries.
- Collaborate with MEAL team to administer remote follow up and surveys to verify quality of MHPSS activities.
- Ensure accurate monitoring & evaluation and indicator tracking plans for MHPSS component.
- Work closely with MEAL officer and assistant to ensure accountability and feedback mechanisms.
- Ensure activities respect child safeguarding policies of SC.
- Support administrative and logistics work related to MHPSS operations.
- Draft concise, analytical reports, case studies, and other documents monthly and quarterly as requested.
- Regular reporting to project officer with project updates.
- Organize and maintain project filing system.
- Promote children's rights and contribute to their well-being and protection in emergencies.
- Act in ways that facilitate SCI’s emergency response, prioritizing assigned tasks.
- Be prepared to support SCI interventions in emergencies and show flexibility.
- Demonstrate leadership in relation to Save the Children policies and practices including safeguarding, code of conduct, health and safety, and equal opportunities.

Requirements
- A university degree in psychology.
- 2-3 years of experience in family and/or child counselling, experience in working with migrants and refugees is an asset.
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including team-leading and influencing.
- Extensive experience in delivering trainings.
- Experience in providing MHPSS services to children, adolescents and youth is an asset.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in Arabic and English are required.
- Comfortable with high levels of ambiguity and able to take decisions independently in a fluid context.
- Experience with refugee/marginalized communities is desired.
