The Public Partnership Officer supports the Global Programme Partnerships unit in resource mobilization, contribution management, and partner engagement to maximize child-focused investments under the SDG agenda. The role involves assisting with external relations, managing contribution agreements, and liaising with UNICEF offices and resource partners.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Public Partnerships Manager and Specialist in external relations, resource mobilization, and related functions for assigned Global Programme Partnerships resource partners.
- Manage contribution agreements and maintain ongoing contacts with HQ divisions, regional offices, and Centers of Excellence engaging with GPP partners.
- Support development of resource mobilization strategies for assigned resource partners for Regular Resources, Other Resources Regular, and Other Resources Emergency contributions.
- Maintain up-to-date information on partner and income trends, analyze development assistance policies, and keep resource partner profiles updated.
- Assist in developing framework and template contribution agreements.
- Organize periodic consultations with assigned resource partners, including agenda preparation and ensuring UNICEF staff participation.
- Prepare briefing notes and documentation for Executive Director and Senior Management visits to/from resource partners.
- Meet with scheduled and ad hoc visitors from resource partner headquarters and field offices.
- Summarize results from internal and external meetings with assigned resource partners.
- Manage day-to-day direct contact with resource partner headquarters and field offices, ensuring timely response to queries.
- Submit project proposals to resource partners and follow up as necessary.
- Act as a liaison between resource partners and UNICEF Centers of Excellence and field offices/HQ divisions.
- Provide guidance on resource mobilization, partner-specific information, contribution management issues, and interpretation of resource partner conditions.
- Help negotiate, review, and clear resource partner agreements and amendments ensuring compliance with UNICEF rules and regulations.
Requirements
- A university degree is required in business administration, economics, finance, accounting, international relations, social sciences, or another relevant technical field.
- A minimum of two years of professional work experience at the national and international levels in programme management is required, including financial management, monitoring and evaluation, or a related field.
- Skills in programme management, grants management, fundraising, international development, external relations, and partner management.
- Fluency in English is required.
- Knowledge of French is considered an asset.
- Desirable: Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language.
- Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts.
