The Senior Human Resources Consultant will support UNICEF's executive screening and assessment capacity for recruitment of senior leadership roles such as Assistant Representatives and Deputy Representatives. The consultant will design and implement various assessment methodologies to ensure selection of highly skilled and competent senior leaders.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a robust bank of assessment methodologies in collaboration with DPC Senior Leadership Support Team recruiters.
  • Pilot and validate assessment methodologies to ensure statistical validity and reliability.
  • Maintain a shared calendar for scheduling interviews, assessments, and feedback calls.
  • Conduct competency-based interviews and other assessment exercises as required.
  • Provide timely interview reports and comprehensive assessment reports within 48 hours after interviews.
  • Deliver 30-minute oral feedback sessions to unsuccessful candidates for career progression and self-development.
  • Ensure confidentiality and ownership of all assessment content and materials by UNICEF.
  • Coordinate periodically with the Senior Leadership Support team to refine assessment tools and processes.

Requirements

  • Advanced university degree (Master’s or higher) in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Organizational Psychology, Psychometrics, or a related field.
  • Degrees in Human Resources Management or other social sciences may be considered if combined with demonstrated expertise in assessment design, psychometrics, or organizational psychology.
  • 10+ years of relevant professional experience in assessment design and implementation, talent assessment.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing, developing and administering various assessment types (e.g. SJTs, role play exercises, case exercises, etc.).
  • Experience producing assessment reports focusing on strengths, weaknesses and improvement areas.
  • Experience in executive-level assessment is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of psychometric principles including reliability, validity, bias mitigation/fairness.
  • Experience in designing, piloting, and refining assessment tools using data and feedback.
  • Ability to develop robust scoring frameworks and evaluation criteria.
  • Familiarity with competency frameworks (UNICEF or similar international frameworks) is an asset.
  • Experience working in or with multicultural, international, and geographically dispersed environments, applying assessment approaches across diverse cultural contexts.
  • Fluency in English is required; fluency in another UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish) is an advantage.
