The Roving Field Coordinator will coordinate effective project planning and implementation, establish partnerships and communication channels, monitor and report on project progress, and facilitate knowledge sharing and capacity building in the assigned portfolio. The role supports the County Administration in Central Equatoria State and collaborates closely with the Stabilization, Recovery, and Resilience Unit to deliver project activities.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate effective project planning and implementation including development of work plans and budgets based on capacity assessments and UNDP guidelines.
  • Manage day-to-day activities of the assigned portfolio ensuring outputs are delivered on time, within budget, and to high-quality standards.
  • Facilitate establishment of interactive and inclusive platforms for project implementation and collaborate with other program units to integrate critical development issues.
  • Ensure operational management of assigned portfolio including procurement, and management of human, technical and financial resources.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships and strategic linkages with implementing and development partners, government officials, businesses, NGOs, and other stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain stakeholder mapping and analysis to identify needs and leverage participation.
  • Provide technical support to implementing partners and act as liaison between UNDP and partners.
  • Support resource mobilization efforts and project development.
  • Monitor and report on progress in implementing project activities and achieving targets.
  • Review results framework and update indicators, baselines, and targets.
  • Develop strategies and systems for data collection, verification, and reporting.
  • Identify and manage emerging issues, problems, and risks.
  • Conduct field visits to project sites.
  • Liaise with Finance team to ensure budgets and financial resources are managed appropriately.
  • Prepare corporate, donor and government reports in line with schedules and requirements.
  • Ensure proper operational and financial closure of the project.
  • Organize training, workshops, and capacity building activities involving technical experts and stakeholders.
  • Identify, synthesize and document best practices and lessons learned from projects and partners.
  • Participate in knowledge networks and communities of practice related to project issues.
  • Support establishment of knowledge platforms and innovative dissemination mechanisms.
  • Promote advocacy on development trends and collaboration opportunities with partners and UNDP communications staff.
  • Perform other duties as necessary for efficient functioning of the Office and Organization.

Requirements

  • Advanced university degree (master's degree or equivalent) in Business Administration, Public Administration, Economics, Political Sciences, Social Sciences, or related field is required, or; A first-level university degree (bachelor’s degree) in the above fields in combination with an additional two years of qualifying experience will be given due consideration in lieu of the advanced university degree.
  • Minimum 2 years (with master’s degree) or 4 years (with bachelor’s degree) of relevant experience at the national or international level in providing management advisory services, and/or hands-on experience in design, monitoring and evaluation of development projects.
  • Experience in the use of computers, office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.) and web-based management systems, and advanced knowledge of spreadsheet and database packages.
  • Good networking abilities and partnership development.
  • Knowledge and experience in project management.
  • Experience in the UN system or any international organization is desired.
  • Fluency in the UN language of the duty station is required (English).
  • Fluency in the national language of the duty station is required (Arabic).
