The Information Management Officer supports the design, development, and implementation of information management systems aligned with DRC's MEAL strategy and programmatic needs. The role involves data management, mobile data collection support, knowledge management, capacity building, and external representation in coordination forums.
Responsibilities
- Support the design and implementation of a country-specific Information Management system to store, analyse, and disseminate information based on DRC needs
- Create computerized tools for faster M&E tracking and reporting and support MEAL department in applying these tools
- Improve database management using online and offline databases
- Ensure consistency and interoperability between different datasets and sources
- Contribute to the IM plan for new projects considering best practices in data management
- Ensure data collected is well-organized and easily usable with required disaggregation
- Adapt IM systems based on emerging needs and programming requirements
- Code and test assessment tools for MEAL and Program teams into Kobo or other platforms
- Provide technical input for tool design including form logic and scoring formulas
- Upload forms for data collection to Kobo or platform server
- Review translations of data collection forms for coherence and accuracy
- Download, clean, and share data sets with MEAL and Program staff
- Ensure effective gathering, documentation, and dissemination of knowledge and evidence
- Keep informed about Knowledge Management tools and lead knowledge transfer methods
- Develop and maintain web-based and local knowledge sharing platforms
- Promote knowledge sharing through operational processes and improve integration across departments
- Maintain effective research of key platforms and disseminate relevant material
- Provide technical troubleshooting support for IM systems and mobile data collection technologies
- Provide trainings on IM systems and follow-up technical support to improve data quality
- Build capacity of program teams in responsible data collection, analysis, report writing, and data presentation
- Represent DRC in cluster or authority meetings related to MEAL/IM upon request
- Represent the organization towards communities communicating about mandate and humanitarian principles
- Share information and experience with other NGOs on IM/MEAL aspects
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in information management
- Ability to coordinate tasks and work processes and work with short deadlines
- Experience with facilitating and leading internal organisational processes
- Expert knowledge of Power BI, Excel and other quantitative and qualitative data analysis tools
- Long-term experience in the development of and visualization of solutions data sets
- Expert knowledge of solutions information management functions and coordination mechanisms
- Degree/Bachelor of Science in information management
- Fluency in English and Arabic, both written and verbal
