The Analyst supports the visual identity strategy within the organization by creating clear 2D and 3D graphic content that informs and highlights the mandate of UN-Habitat Mesoamerica. The role involves designing and maintaining institutional graphic identity, producing audiovisual content, and ensuring timely delivery of services and products related to communication activities.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain the institutional graphic identity of the subregional office and associated projects aligned with UN-Habitat global guidelines.
- Propose and apply color palettes, typography, visual styles and graphic resources coherent with institutional identity.
- Develop, update and socialize graphic identity manuals for projects, campaigns and specific products.
- Supervise correct application of visual identity in all graphic and audiovisual materials produced by the office and its partners.
- Coordinate with communication, technical, program teams and allies for production of graphic and audiovisual materials.
- Ensure compliance with institutional guidelines, copyright, image use and credits.
- Support creative conceptualization of communication products to strengthen visibility, coherence and impact of institutional messages.
- Design and layout graphic materials for project socialization including infographics, brochures, reports, editorial publications, dissemination materials, etc.
- Develop printed and digital materials aligned with institutional image: stationery, folders, banners, signage, publication covers, diplomas, promotional materials, presentations, etc.
- Prepare final files for printing and digital distribution ensuring quality standards, accessibility and correct graphic reproduction.
- Maintain an organized and accessible information archive according to agency systems.
- Prepare progress reports and activity reports as required for project management and accountability.
- Ensure all activities observe the principles of United Nations integrity.
- Complete all required courses or training as indicated by the UN-Habitat Representative for Mexico, Cuba and Central America.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Audiovisual Communication, Graphic Design, Communication Sciences, Audiovisual Production, Visual Communication, Multimedia, Animation or related fields.
- Desirable: diplomas or certifications in audiovisual production, motion graphics and animation, editorial design or UX/UI, institutional design.
- At least 2 years of professional experience in institutional graphic and editorial design; production and editing of audiovisual content; development of communication materials for digital (2D and 3D) and print environments.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud: Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effects (or equivalents).
- Experience in motion graphics and basic to intermediate animation.
- Technical knowledge in lighting, framing, audiovisual narrative and b-roll management.
- Knowledge of file preparation for printing and digital formats.
- Knowledge in optimization of digital formats (weight, resolution, reproduction).
- Ability to organize and manage multiple project deliveries in parallel.
- Excellent oral and written skills in Spanish; oral and written English skills considered an advantage.
- Precision and professionalism in document production and editing.
- Excellent interpersonal skills; cultural and social sensitivity; ability to work inclusively and collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders including grassroots community members, religious and youth organizations, and authorities at different levels.
- Familiarity with communication tools and approaches for development.
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural team of national and international staff.
- Strong computer skills including advanced use of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.) and email/internet.
- Experience working within the United Nations system is not required but will be valued.
- Mandatory completion within the first month of employment of the UNDSS BSAFE security course and the UN Women course 'I Know Gender: An Introduction to Gender Equality for UN staff'.
- Responsible for own security and compliance with UN security management system.
