The Analyst is based in the EBRD’s resident office in Amman, Jordan, working in the sustainable infrastructure sector. The role involves contributing to all phases of the project cycle including origination, structuring, execution, implementation, and monitoring of infrastructure projects in transport and municipal sectors.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to all aspects of project structuring and execution including research, analysis of background materials, market information, and financial performance data.
  • Analyse and evaluate potential risks related to proposed projects including financial statement analysis and financial modelling.
  • Assist in designing and processing technical co-operation assistance including preparation of terms of reference and internal approval documentation.
  • Assist with communication with internal Bank units, clients, and stakeholders including preparing draft correspondence and presentations.
  • Ensure timely completion of assigned tasks to high quality and in line with Bank policies and objectives.
  • Undertake tasks related to implementation and monitoring of projects including compliance with agreements, disbursement monitoring, progress and financial performance assessment, risk factor evaluation, and covenant compliance.
  • Prepare draft monitoring reports with recommendations for corrective actions and ensure follow-up.
  • Assist with implementation and monitoring of technical cooperation assignments including client communication, fund usage monitoring, and reporting to meet donor requirements.
  • Support business/pipeline development, client management, and policy dialogue as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred or equivalent experience in relevant areas.
  • Professional qualification such as ACA, CFA, ACCA, or CIMA is desirable.
  • Strong quantitative/numerical skills with ability to interpret financial information and design/use financial models.
  • Credit analysis skills including interpretation of accounts and understanding of local and international accounting principles and credit analysis practices.
  • Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office and spreadsheet packages including financial analysis and modelling modules.
  • Good understanding of relevant systems and processes.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member, meet deadlines, and work under time pressure.
  • Good written and oral communication skills in English and Arabic.
  • Experience working in Jordan preferred.
  • Relevant financial industry experience from investment or commercial bank, private equity firm, asset management firm, or auditing/financial consulting firm operating to international standards.
  • Good understanding of infrastructure and energy sectors in the region.
  • Experience in project finance and/or climate finance is an advantage.
