The Supply Chain Coordinator is responsible for the design, planning, execution and monitoring of supply chain activities within the Darfur program to ensure effective delivery in compliance with IRC and donor regulations. The role includes managing procurement, logistics, inventory, asset and fleet management, and leading continuous improvement and team capacity building.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement supply chain plans including procurement, warehousing, transport, staffing, distribution and training plans.
- Ensure procurement plans are developed for all active grants in collaboration with program Coordinators.
- Coordinate with supply chain field staff to ensure sufficient warehouse space before sending supplies to field sites.
- Develop supply chain staff training and capacity building plans and incorporate into budgets.
- Manage procurement strategies, policies and procedures ensuring compliance with IRC and donor regulations.
- Review and execute procurement contracts timely and organize procurement training sessions.
- Manage inventory and warehouse operations ensuring excellent record keeping and compliance with IRC policies.
- Conduct regular warehouse visits, spot checks and surprise inventory counts.
- Manage procurement, maintenance, safekeeping and records of all IRC country program assets and equipment.
- Oversee fleet and transportation activities ensuring vehicle maintenance, insurance and policy compliance.
- Identify and analyze compliance risks, implement procurement controls and address fraud and corruption red flags.
- Oversee supply chain learning and development initiatives and assess training needs.
- Manage supply chain team including orientation, coaching, performance evaluation and staff well-being.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply chain/logistics or equivalent education and experience.
- 5 years or more of progressive Supply Chain professional experience.
- Demonstrated success as a Supply Chain leader across all disciplines including planning, procurement and logistics.
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience in medical logistics and the procurement, storage, transport and distribution of pharmaceuticals.
- Broad knowledge and experience in Supply Chain strategies, market analysis techniques, procurement and contracting, vehicle and fleet management, inventory, property and asset management.
- Strong collaborator and influencer with effective interpersonal and analytical skills able to work across countries, cultures, and organizational units.
- Ability to work effectively in a highly matrixed structure.
- Strong financial management and budgeting skills.
- Excellent training and coaching ability.
- Fluency in English required; proficiency in Arabic or French is advantageous.
- Ability to travel to remote field offices.
- Resilient, organized, hard-working, with positive attitude.
