The Intake Assessment Assistant supports the Central Intake Unit Investigations Officer in managing the Agency's misconduct intake process, including preparing assessments of allegations and handling complaints. The role requires confidentiality, accuracy, and impartiality in gathering evidence and maintaining complaint records.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Central Intake Unit Investigations Officer in organizing and administering the Agency's misconduct intake process related to assessment of allegations.
- Prepare and draft written assessments of allegations of misconduct including breach of neutrality outlining available information.
- Make information-based inquiries and/or interviews with diligence ensuring confidentiality, accuracy, and impartiality.
- Support UNRWA Hotline Officer in handling complaints ensuring complaints across all field offices are maintained and registered.
- Register complaints of non-misconduct received by DIOS in the designated complaint registry and provide regular updates on data statistics.
- Perform other tasks as required.
Requirements
- A University degree from an accredited educational institution in Law, Investigations, Human Resources, Management, Communication, Business or a related discipline.
- Experience working in the United Nations is desirable.
- Experience working in intake/investigation related disciplines is desirable.
- Currently residing in the duty station (Amman, Jordan) and within commuting distance with authorization to work is required.
- Indicate current involvement in any outside activities including employment, consultancy, board membership, public speaking/writing, teaching, conferences, training, press statements, voluntary work, political activity, fundraising, running for public office, role in political party or organizations, owning business, work for government/NGO/private company/charity, UNRWA partner/vendor, full/part-time, paid or not.
- Sound drafting skills in both English and Arabic.
- Ability to operate personal computers and work on MS Office and database applications.
- Planning and organizing with attention to detail and discretion.
- Ability to make information-based inquiries and/or interviews ensuring confidentiality and accuracy of evidence gathered, and impartiality of conclusions reached.
