See your match score & applyThe Chief Field Office (CFO) is accountable for managing and leading the total programme commitment of a field office within a country programme. The CFO represents UNICEF in his/her Area of Responsibility, leads and oversees various program sectors and operational service teams ensuring delivery of quality results in accordance with UNICEF's programme of cooperation and country programme management plan.
Responsibilities
- Manage and lead the total programme commitment of a field office within a country programme.
- Represent UNICEF in the Area of Responsibility (AoR).
- Lead and oversee various program sectors and operational service teams.
- Ensure delivery of quality results in accordance with UNICEF's programme of cooperation and country programme management plan.
- Manage UNICEF presence, staff and assets effectively.
- Lead knowledge management for programmes.
- Oversee programme development and management.
- Ensure optimum use of program funds.
- Conduct programme monitoring and evaluations.
- Apply rights-based and results-based programme management approach.
- Support national and local capacity building and sustainability.
- Advocate for rights perspective at national, community and family levels.
- Coordinate partnership, collaboration and coordination efforts.
Requirements
- An advanced university degree in social sciences, international relations, public administration, government and public relations, public or social policy, sociology, social or community development, or another relevant technical field is required.
- A minimum of five years of professional work experience in programme management, planning, monitoring and evaluation, project administration, or another relevant area in a humanitarian and development setting is required.
- Strong programme management and leadership skills are required.
- Ability to build partnerships and engage multiple stakeholders is required.
- Effective advocacy and communication capabilities are required.
- Solid experience in humanitarian coordination and results-based management is required.
- Fluency in English is required.
- Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.
- Experience working in a country with complex emergencies is an added advantage.
- Experience managing a team with a large geographical coverage is desirable.
- Relevant experience in a UN system agency or organization is an asset.
- Familiarity with interagency/humanitarian coordination/area-based coordination systems is an asset.
- Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts.
