The Administrative Officer is responsible for delivering efficient and cost-effective administrative support services, providing guidance for operations of administrative support services and management of administrative staff. Ensures compliance with organizational administrative policies, procedures, rules, and regulations within the Education Cannot Wait (ECW) fund hosted by UNICEF.
Responsibilities
- Serve as focal point of administrative management services ensuring delivery of efficient and cost-effective administrative support services.
- Provide guidance for operations of administrative support services and management of administrative staff.
- Ensure the office’s administrative operations and services comply with the organization's administrative policy, procedures, rules and regulations.
- Manage policy, procedures and strategies related to administrative functions.
- Oversee budget management for administrative activities.
- Provide administrative support and services including property management, contract arrangement and control.
- Support staff learning and development.
- Facilitate partnership, coordination and collaboration within administrative functions.
Requirements
- Bachelor or equivalent (First Level University Degree) in social sciences, business management, administration, finance or any other relevant field of discipline.
- Two years of relevant professional work experience with both national and international work experience in office management, administration, finance, accounting, ICT, human resources, supply or any other relevant function.
- Experience in administrative arrangements.
- Ability to support service management.
- Experience in operational coordination.
- Ability to provide organizational support.
- Knowledge of English and French language at a Proficient/Fluent level is required.
- Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, Russian or Spanish) is desirable.
- Work experience in another UN agency is an advantage.
- Experience in supporting the Inter-Agency Operations Management Team’s approaches.
- Experience in administrative support and services, budget management, and contract management and compliance are desired, including travel and conference coordination, procurement and vendor management, office operations, budget tracking, and contract administration.
- Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts.
