Technical Studentship (General and Civil Engineering)

As a Technical Student at CERN, you will gain hands-on experience supporting projects in general and civil engineering. You will assist experienced engineers and contribute to design, analysis, surveying, and construction-related activities while learning in a collaborative international environment.

Responsibilities

• Learn from and assist experienced engineers, technicians and scientists in your field of study.
• Contribute to ongoing projects in areas such as design, analysis, surveying or construction-related activities.
• Take part in day-to-day technical activities under close supervision.
• Collaborate and exchange ideas within an international and multidisciplinary team.

Requirements

• Currently studying in General or Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Required or encouraged by your university to complete a practical training period.
• Eager to develop skills through on-the-job learning.
• Good understanding of general or civil engineering fundamentals relevant to your studies.
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a multicultural team.
• Must be a national of a CERN Member State or Associate Member State (excluding Pakistani and Lithuanian nationals for 2026 start date).
• Completed at least 18 months of studies (3 semesters) in the respective field at the time of selection.
• PhD students or holders are not eligible.
• Good knowledge of English or French.
• Must remain enrolled as a full-time student during the studentship.
• Must provide CV in English or French.
• Academic reference letter (optional).
