The Project Officer will provide technical and administrative support to ASEAN bodies in the Energy & Minerals Division, assisting with meetings, programme implementation, data management, and policy research to support ASEAN's energy and minerals initiatives, including decarbonisation projects.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical and administrative support to the ASEAN bodies with respect to meetings including document and logistics preparation, rapporteuring, and coordination of follow-up actions and decisions.
- Provide administrative support for implementation of programmes and projects in energy and minerals, including formulating, appraising and implementing projects such as Driving Decarbonisation for ASEAN Competitiveness: Deploying CCU/S for Industrial Hubs in ASEAN.
- Maintain an information system on the overall financial status of projects, including budgets and expenditures forecast.
- Facilitate requests from ASEAN Member States.
- Prepare, compile and maintain data records and documentation of activities, decisions and initiatives related to the sectors.
- Provide drafting and research assistance for technical, policy and information papers to facilitate programme and project achievements.
- Provide information for Member States related to meetings or workshops.
Requirements
- Advance degree in Economics, Management, Engineering or an appropriate related field; or Bachelor’s degree with a minimum two (2) years of relevant work experience in policy, research and other technical roles in the relevant area.
- Experience in the oil and gas sector, including carbon capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS), will be considered an advantage.
- Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, monitor and review policy and procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and organise tasks and workflows, with proven ability for accuracy under pressure and adherence to deadlines.
- Demonstrated commitment to collaborative work practices.
- Proven skills in problem solving in a complex organisational environment and in work planning.
- Ability to multi-task, work long and irregular hours, perform tasks outside the usual job scope, and willingness to travel frequently on short notice.
- Good drafting skills and good command of English, written and spoken.
- Competency in computer skills with adequate knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook where relevant to the position.
