The Individual Contractor will contribute to the effective implementation of the UNSDCF, the operationalization of the Emai Fund, the closure of the Ezingo and other funds, and the advancement of joint programming across the UNCT. Key deliverables include operational and coordination support to pooled funds, joint programmes, and UNCT coordination mechanisms in support of the Resident Coordinator's Office.
Responsibilities
- Support the day-to-day management and coordination of the Emai Fund, including governance, reporting, monitoring and knowledge management requirements.
- Support the organization and follow-up of Emai Fund governance meetings, including preparation of agendas, background documents, meeting reports and action trackers.
- Liaise with participating UN organizations, the Multi-Partner Trust Fund Office (MPTFO), Government counterparts, donors and other stakeholders on matters related to the Fund.
- Assist in identifying and tracking funding opportunities for the Emai Fund, and contribute to the preparation of concept notes, donor briefs/missions, funding proposals and resource mobilization materials.
- Support the preparation of donor updates, presentations, visibility materials, briefing notes and reporting products related to the Emai Fund.
- Support the implementation of actions required for the closure of the Ezingo Fund, including follow-up with participating organizations and consolidation of outstanding programmatic and financial reporting requirements.
- Support the development, implementation and follow-up of joint programmes and joint initiatives under the UNSDCF.
- Facilitate coordination among participating UN organizations involved in joint programmes and pooled fund-supported initiatives.
- Contribute to the preparation of concept notes, programme documents, briefing materials and progress updates related to joint programming initiatives.
- Support the planning, organization and follow-up of UNCT coordination mechanisms (PMT, Results Groups, etc.), as requested by the supervisor.
- Provide secretariat support to the Partnership and Resource Mobilization Working Group (GTPMR) and other assigned coordination mechanisms, including preparation of agendas, minutes and action trackers.
- Support the preparation of briefing packages, talking points, presentations and background notes for the Resident Coordinator’s meetings and engagements with partners.
- Support visibility and communication efforts, including by contributing to the UNCT Annual Results Report.
- Undertake other relevant tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements
- Advanced university degree (master's degree) in International Relations, Development Studies, Economics, Public Administration, Political Science, Social Sciences or a related field is required. A first-level university degree, combined with two (2) additional years of qualifying experience, may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree.
- Minimum five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in programme coordination, partnerships, development cooperation, project management, resource mobilization or related fields.
- Experience in organizing and supporting high-level partnership and resource mobilization events engaging government authorities, donors, international financial institutions and other key stakeholders, preferably in the context of donor roundtables and financing initiatives.
- Experience providing coordination support to multi-stakeholder platforms and governance mechanisms, particularly in the context of the UNSDCF/UNCT.
- Experience working with the United Nations, international organizations, government institutions or development partners in fragile contexts, particularly in Africa.
- Experience in drafting reports, concept notes, talking points, and briefing materials.
- Fluency in English and French (oral and written) is required.
